The term "born again" is found in the Bible, in the gospel of John (John 3:3; John 3:7) and the letter 1 Peter (1 Peter 1:23).
The Bible describes two births. The first birth is physical - the birth of the body. The second birth is spiritual - the rebirth as a new creation as a child of God. Being "born again" is triggered by an individual coming to faith in Jesus Christ - that Jesus Christ is God; that He is the one who died to pay the penalty for their sins and that apart from Him, we are not good enough to be in a right relationship with God.
